Oceanize purifies plastic - Retura NT takes over commercial waste in Ytre Namdal

Retura NT has acquired the container park and Oceanize's portfolio of commercial customers in Ytre Namdal. At the same time, Oceanize is focusing on plastic recycling and is starting up a new production line.

From February 1, Retura NT will have full responsibility for container rental and collection of commercial waste from customers in Ytre Namdal. This comes after Retura NT signed an agreement just before the New Year to acquire the container fleet and customer portfolio from the recycling company Oceanize AS.

- "In the short term, customers will not experience any major practical changes other than a new local contact person," says Sigve Hallager, CEO of Retura NT.

Plastics made pure

The sale of the container fleet and the customer portfolio with commercial customers, makes Oceanize a recycling company. The company is now strengthening its focus on plastic recycling, according to acting CEO Johan Saugestad.

- We are specializing to develop Oceanize as the leading plastic recycling company in Norway. This involves new investments and industrialization of a traceable value chain from collection of plastic along our coast, via granulation at Matmortua to increased use of recycled plastic in new products," says Saugestad.

Oceanize's new production line for granulating ropes is now in place and will start production in January.

- This increases our production capacity by a new 3,500 tons of plastic granules per year," says Saugestad.

Strengthening in a growth area

According to Sigve Hallager, the agreement with Oceanize means that Retura NT is strengthening its position in a very interesting part of northern Trøndelag.

- This is also part of our commitment to the blue sector, and we want to both contribute to and participate in further growth in Ytre Namdal," says Hallager.

Over the next few weeks, Oceanize's former business customers will receive written information from Retura NT and salesman Knut Henning Rosenvinge will start visiting customers and following up on the new customers.

- Together with our customers, we will contribute to the green shift. Together with our partners, we will help customers achieve profitable sustainability gains," Hallager continues.
